Child Safety Standards & Regulations

Important safety standards and regulations that protect your child in our care, from food prep to privacy and safeguarding.

Child Safety Standards We Follow

As a registered childminder, I follow strict safety regulations to protect every child. Here are key standards:

Food Preparation & Allergies

Grape & Food Cutting:

  • All grapes must be cut into quarters (not halves) to prevent choking hazards
  • All hard foods are prepared following strict size guidelines

Nut Policies:

  • No nuts allowed in my childcare setting, even as snacks from home
  • Nuts stored safely in your child's bag, away from the setting
  • Why? Nut dust in the air can trigger anaphylactic shock in allergic children

Privacy & Dignity

  • Children never changed or bathed in the same room as other activities
  • Privacy screens used to ensure children's dignity
  • Changing follows strict hygiene and safeguarding procedures

Child Protection & Safeguarding

I'm trained to spot signs of abuse, neglect, or harm. If concerns arise, I can report to safeguarding organizations and social services. Child safety and welfare is always my priority.
